Wrestling 20 Years Ago Project
In May of 2013 I started a wrestling history project on Twitter called @Wrestling20Yrs.
This was setup mainly as a personal history lesson into old time wrestling, being born in 1991 means I missed a lot of wrestling’s boom period, and I now want to go back and relive it.
The project focuses on two separate aspects. The first, is news and editorial from the time. This is taken up expertly by the back-issue newsletters of both the Wrestling Observer and the Pro Wrestling Torch. Both sites do great work in 2013, but their back-issues allow someone like me to travel back in time and really immerse myself into 20 years ago wrestling.
The second is “live tweeting” of shows. Thanks to websites like Youtube and Dailymotion, and the users that populate them, there is a massive library of wrestling videos available online to watch. Live tweeting the action is a great way to really relive it, and plus people get to follow along with it.
